Yumare Mexican Folkloric Dancers Inc. was founded in 1989 by Maestro Manuel Garcia.  Maestro Garcia has over 30 years of experience teaching and dancing the art of Folklorico.  He studied and graduated from the Universidad Autonomo de Chihuahua in Mexico.  He has taught countless number of students and has been recognized by the state of Oklahoma for his work in the Hispanic Community.  Many of his students are 2nd generation dancers as many of their parents were once students of Yumare.  Yumare Mexican Folkloric Dancers Inc. has performed throughout Oklahoma at various festivals, community events, school assemblies, parades and even for local and state governments.

Yumare has received several awards throughout the years and has performed all over the state as well as in Texas, Arkansas, and Kansas.  Yumare has been in many festivals and events throughout Oklahoma City and surrounding areas which include: The Festival of the Arts in Oklahoma City, Global Oklahoma at Rose State College in Midwest City, and The State Fair of Oklahoma.  We have also won several awards in the Tierra del Corazon folklorico competition and Fiesta de las Americas festival in Oklahoma City.
